PARX France, subsidiary of On Track Innovations (OTI), is expanding its EasyPark contactless parking solution to Montpellier, the 8th largest city in France with more than 500,000 residents in the city’s metropolitan area.
EasyPark (known as Piaf 2 in France) is OTI’s in-vehicle contactless electronic parking meter. To activate Piaf 2, the driver turns on the contactless unit to start the meter and places it in the car window. Upon returning, the driver turns off the meter and pays for the exact amount of parking time, rather than a flat hourly rate.
Piaf 2 can be used for both on-street parking payments and in parking lots, eliminating the need for parking meters and it also provides parking reports to the municipality in order to better manage and monitor parking patterns across town.
Montpellier is the second city in France adopting the parking solution, just two months after Reims. Aside from France, EasyPark is currently used in more than 30 cities and 600,000 users around Israel, Italy and Bermuda.
