Reading area adopts contactless ticketing for bus network

simplyBus has launched its contactless ticketing system in the Reading, Newbury and Thatcham, UK bus networks, according to The Reading Chronicle.
Riders can purchase the new smart cards from the simplyBUS Travel Center in the Broad Street Mall, simplyBUS’s Head Office, Great Knollys Street Reading, or online.
The cards cover single, daily, or weekly rides.
Users can top up their cards at the two aforementioned simplyBUS locations, as well as at 200 PayPoint stations in and around Reading and Newbury.
The seven day simplyBus smart card will cost £10 until April 19 as an introductory offer, then the price will rise to £13.
