Real ID noncompliance causing real problems for five states
Driver licenses from Maine and Montana join ranks of those no longer accepted for entry to Federal facilities

Exactly one-half of the 50 U.S. states are currently compliant with Real ID:

Another 13 applied for and were granted an extension until October 10, 2017:

Seven additional states have an extension until June 6, 2017:

Five states are non-compliant. Two were not granted a renewal to a previous extension — Maine and Montana — and the remaining three continue in their noncompliant status:
