Prisoner and guard interactions will now be automatically tracked and documented at Hardin County Jail in Eldora, Iowa with the aid of Clincher RFID wristbands. The Clincher wristbands are non-transferable IDs that also provide point-of-contact verification.
As an officer scan the individual prisoner’s Clincher RFID Wristband with their mobile computers, powered by GUARDIAN Mobile software, the system records the interaction to provide documentation for regulatory compliance.
Previously, the jail relied on RFID badges that were lost or stolen by other inmates and provided only proof of presence within a general area.
Clincher’s read/write technology interfaces with the GUARDIAN RFID Corrections System for real-time, electronic recordkeeping, tracking, and reporting. The system records relevant information on the inmate, date, time, location, and the correctional officer involved.
Other applications include tracking the issuance and return of dangerous supplies such as shaving razors and tracking the transfer of prisoners from the jail to court and back to ensure all are accounted for.
