Australia-based Savcor has announced plans to increase its focus on the RFID technology market, signally its intentions with the acquisition of another Finnish player in the industry, and a new contract to supply UPM Raflatac.
Savcor has purchased Intune Circuits, a producer of antennas used in RFID tags and inlays. Savcor gains Intune’s global customer base and intellectual property rights as well the technology and manufacturing capabilities to produce aluminum antennas for low-cost RFID tags.
The new assets will assist Savcor in its new contract with UPM Raflatac to supply a new type of high frequency, ultra high resolution RFID antenna.
Savcor has previously focused on three business areas; rehabilitation technology for infrastructure and industrial assets, functional and decorative solutions for the telecom industry, and performance solutions for the forestry industry and the associated solid wood and paper industries.
