Schreiner LogiData, a German RFID label manufacturer, has developed a label aimed at increasing readability when applied to a metallic surface. The company’s new label solves this readability problem with a spacer made of a special foam.
The foam label separates the RFID antenna from the metallic substrate by means of a spacer and enables trouble-free read/write operations, the company says. The spacer consists of durable industrial foam. The RFID label has an adhesive area which enables direct attachment to the metallic surface.
The low-cost foam label can be equipped with a range of chip technologies and inlay sizes, which makes the label suitable for marking storage locations and loading aids as well as metal containers and cage pallets in logistics and identification of metallic parts and components in manufacturing. The label can be customized with bar codes, plain text and logos. Additional security features such as holograms, BitSecure codes or color-shifting inks may be integrated as well.
