SecureRF has announced Jeffrey Zhu as its new chief technology officer and vice president of engineering, a position that places him in charge of developing new products based on the company’s patent-pending security method, the Algebraic Eraser.
Zhu has a long resume of achievements in the RFID world, including 13 patents related to RFID technology and stints at Neology, Sirit and MarkIV industries. His designs cover a range of applications from drug delivery to electronic toll systems.
The Algebraic Eraser promises to be a lightweight, but highly secure, cryptographic solution with can provide strong authentication and data protection between passive, semi-passive and active RFID tags and readers.
“There is a strong need for security on a variety of RFID platforms,” said Zhu. “RF security is an area that I have long been interested in so I am looking forward to this opportunity to help bring a secure solution to market.” Zhu will also manage other product development, solution designs and support client engagements for SecureRF.
