SMARTRAC announced the release of its low-frequency SmartMiniGlassTag that is designed for the identification of very small animals or objects.
The little transponder weighs only 70 milligrams and measures 2.12 mm x 8.8 mm. Its typical applications include the tagging of mice, fish and other small animals. It also suits access control and other general industry applications.
Despite its small size, the tag still holds it own. The transponder is manufactured from biocompatible glass and is hermetically sealed for toughness and high chemical resistance.
The low frequency transponder operates at 125 kHz and 134.2 kHz and sports a 512 bit EEPROM storage capacity, with additional security features that include write and password protection.
