Leaked specs of two brand-new BlackBerry handsets shows RIM is serious about NFC.
According to Top10.com, both the Monaco Touch and Sedona handsets will be NFC-equipped when they hit stores in late summer 2011.
In addition to NFC, the Monaco Touch will feature a 3.7 in touch screen, 4GB of internal memory, a five megapixel camera and a 1.2 GHz Qualcomm processor.
The slimmer Sedona is light on the details, but we know it will be in the familiar QWERTY BlackBerry form and feature a 800Mhz processor as well as built-in NFC.
The leak comes just days a couple days after RIM announced plans to launch its mobile payment service in the UK by 2012. Additionally, two other BlackBerry NFC handsets were leaked last month, the Torch 2 and Dakota.
