UK-based RTLS provider Ubisense has announced that its products are now complaint for use in Korea. In addition, the company’s ultra-wideband (UWB) RTLS solution has been chosen by Korean steel giant POSCO for use in its plant in Pohang.
According to Han Ku Park, project manager at POSCO in Pohang, the UWB RTLS system has allowed workers to meet all objectives on time and within the planned budget. POSCO has also claimed improved employee safety and better accident prevention.
POSCO is the world’s fourth largest steel producer, ranked by Business Week in 2007 as the “most admired company in Asia.”
By expanding into Korea, Ubisense also hopes to sell its UWB RTLS solution to the country’s massive high-volume automotive plants, as it has done in Europe with BMW.
