Roncari Express Parking, an off site airport valet on the east coast, has begun providing its patrons with the new electronic GOPASS membership card from Digital Identification Solutions, Piedmont, S.C. The new membership card is designed to eliminate waiting for their customers while they are dropping off or picking up their vehicle.
The new system has been installed at Connecticut’s Bradley International Airport as part of Roncari Express Valet Parking’s operating agreement.
It is based on the eGOPASS RFID membership card and the IP-AXS system provided by Red Beetle, a provider of IP-based communications and access control technology, and Digital Identification’s EDIsecure XID 580ie retransfer printer. The system is tied together on the back end with ParkWares’ parking management software suite which oversees all aspects of the customer profiles, point of sale, lot management and transaction processing.
When an eGOPASS client enters the valet parking lot, he taps his membership card at the kiosk to start the process. He is then prompted with his profile information on a touch screen display that enables him to select the date and time of his return and any additional vehicle services he would like done to his car. This entire drop-off (check-in) process can be completed in seconds and the patron is then off to his flight.
Upon returning from his flight, he taps his card on a Roncari reader located in the arrivals area at the airport, which connects directly over the Internet to the ParkWares application at Roncari Express. Within a second, the customer receives a confirmation screen instructing him to proceed to the shuttle bus area. Simultaneously a shuttle bus is immediately dispatched to pick up the client at that location, and the client’s vehicle is pulled from the lot, his credit card is charged and his vehicle with receipt is ready when the client arrives.
