The country is rolling out near field communication, a national ID card with an EMV application and other advanced ID applications.   

Silicon Valley Bank is offering smart chip credit cards to its business clients. The cards will also include the magnetic strip used on most U.S. credit cards, so that it will be compatible at all retailers. The chip embedded in the cards will enable customers to make EMV payments.   

CIM and Bell ID have announced an agreement to work together to enhance the personalization of EMV smart cards. CIM’s card printing and tagging machines can embed contactless smart card chips as well as contact smart chips directly into the product based upon the intended application.
