Adelya launches NFC city pass in Marseille
The Marseille Tourist Office & Convention Bureau (OTCM) has launched a mobile city-pass that enables visitors to to take public transportation, access museums and city attractions and redeem discounts at local stores with a tap of an NFC-enabled handset.
Based on Adelya’s NFC technology, the Marseille city-pass application is controlled via a Web-based back-office platform, enabling the Tourist Office to define which attractions and services are included, e.g. transportation, museums, attractions, deals and discounts.
According to Adelya, the application automatically identifies which coupon to redeem at participating locations, so all visitors have to do is tap their phone against an NFC reader. The transaction is then relayed to the Tourist Office for real-time analysis.
Some 2,000 city-passes have already been deployed this week in support of the World Water Forum, held from March 12 to 17.
