De La Rue using special ink for Guyana IDs
02 September, 2009
category: Government
Optically Variable Ink will be used to secure national ID cards being issued in Guyana, according to a report in the Starbroek News.
The outline of the map of Guyana will appear on the front of the card and it will have additional security features that would not be visible to the naked eye or detectable without the use of necessary technology.
De La Rue was contracted to supply the material, hardware, software and consumables associated with the production process. The cards will have a lifespan of more than eight years. ID card production will commence around late October.
